ROSWELL, New Mexico (September 24, 2025) — Xcel Energy is pleased to announce that Letty Kuykendall has been named Community Service manager of the company’s Roswell, New Mexico service area following the retirement of Mike McLeod.

Kuykendall brings nearly 32 years of experience to her new role, having built a career rooted in customer service, technical expertise and community engagement. She began her journey with Xcel Energy when she started at Southwestern Public Service Company in October of 1993 as a meter reader. In 1999, she transitioned into Distribution Design, where she honed her operational and technical skills. Her career evolved further in 2016 when she joined the Customer Relations team, advancing through roles as Account Manager and Key Account Manager. Most recently, she served as Key Account Project Manager, supporting the electrical needs of commercial and industrial customers across Southeast New Mexico and Texas.
Kuykendall holds an associate degree in Business Administration from Eastern New Mexico University–Roswell and a Bachelor of Arts in Business from Northwood University. Her commitment to the community is reflected in her service on the boards of United Way of Chaves County and Habitat for Humanity, where she chaired the family selection committee.
“Letty’s deep roots in the region and her decades of experience working directly with customers make her an ideal fit for this role,” said Brad Baldridge, Xcel Energy’s Senior Director of Customer and Community Relations for New Mexico and Texas. “She brings a thoughtful, service-driven approach that will continue the strong legacy Mike McLeod built in Roswell. We are grateful to Mike for his many years of hard work and wish him well as he enjoys his well-deserved retirement.”
