DENVER, Colorado (March 22, 2019) – Xcel Energy—Colorado crews will be making repairs to a steam line located at the intersection of Broadway and East 17th Avenue in Denver. Due to the nature of the work, lane closures are in place on Broadway and on 17th Avenue near the intersection. Signs will be posted to alert commuters about the work and police officers are in place to direct traffic. It is anticipated the work will be completed the first week of April.

Drivers have already seen some work being done in this area, but on Monday, March 25, crews will be opening a new area as they continue to try to locate the leak.

Throughout the repair work, traffic plans through the intersection will be altered depending on where crews are excavating. These alterations will be in place overnight as well. Due to the amount of underground utilities and the traffic lane constraints, excavation will be a slow process.
