AMARILLO, Texas (Jan. 28, 2026) — Xcel Energy (NASDAQ: XEL) is marking the opening of its new Bushland Service Center, an investment that will improve service for customers and support Amarillo’s westward growth.
The 45,000-square-foot facility includes modern office areas, warehouse space, truck bays and fleet repair facilities. It will accommodate about 70 employees across departments such as Community Relations, Distribution Construction and Design, Fleet, and Substation Operations & Maintenance. It also includes collaborative spaces designed to boost efficiency and teamwork.

Locating crews and resources in Bushland means we can respond faster, power homes and businesses more effectively and support the region’s economic development,” said Adrian J. Planning began in summer 2022, with construction starting in August 2024. The completed facility includes a materials yard to support additional crews and equipment.
The Bushland Service Center addresses a critical need for service facilities west of Amarillo, alleviating overcrowding at existing locations and ensuring faster response times for customers. It is part of Xcel Energy’s long-term strategy to invest in infrastructure that supports economic development and meets the energy needs of tomorrow.
