FARGO, North Dakota (Aug. 19, 2021) – As part of its commitment to provide safe, reliable natural gas service to customers, Xcel Energy will install a new natural gas line in the intersection of 55th Street/22nd Avenue and 23rd Avenue beginning the week of Aug. 23, 2021. Work will last for approximately two weeks.
This project is part of Xcel Energy’s commitment to system revitalization and will increase natural gas system capacity, allowing more customers to receive natural gas service. This project also supports system resiliency during cold weather events.
Construction will cause temporary lane shifts and partial road closures in both directions of travel on 23rd Avenue. A temporary closure of the westbound lane of 23rd Avenue toward Veterans Boulevard, with a detour along 55th Street, will also be required. We will set up traffic control signs and barricades and flaggers may direct traffic.
Overall project construction will occur through fall 2021. The construction schedule is subject to minor changes due to weather and other factors.
Access to locations will be maintained as much as possible, but some short-term closures may be needed for the safety of the public and our crews.
The public can visit xcelenergyfargo-westfargoproject.com, call the construction hotline at 833-565-1358 or email info@xcelenergyfargo-westfargoproject.com for additional information.
