PARK FALLS, Wisconsin (Aug. 27, 2018) – Xcel Energy will be extending the Turtle-Flambeau Dam dike system. In order to accommodate the work, the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resource’s Sportsman’s boat landing on the Turtle-Flambeau Flowage and Robinson’s boat landing on the Flambeau River will soon close for the rest of year.
The Sportsman’s landing is located approximately two miles east of County Highway FF on Flambeau Dam Road and Robinson’s Landing is located approximately three miles east of County Highway FF on Upper Flambeau River Boat Landing Road. The landings will close on Sept. 4, 2018. Boaters may access alternate boat ramps on the Turtle-Flambeau Flowage, including the Springstead, Fisherman’s, Sturgeon Bay or Murrays Landings.
The closure is necessary to accommodate equipment and materials needed for the dike and road construction. Xcel Energy is coordinating the construction and boat landing closures with DNR. Additional information will be posted here: https://dnr.wi.gov/topic/lands/turtleflambeau/ (external link)
